2012 Education/Training Opportunities through CBIA

Hands-On Workshop Presented by Clifton Larson Allen at CBIA
CBIA will hold a workshop entitled "Constructing a Workshop Plan Using Existing Backlog" presented by Clifton Larson Allen from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 7th at CBIA, cost is $15. The workshop is designed to be hands-on and will focus on preparing a budget for contractors, understanding how project completion changes can affect company gross profit, constructing a financial plan using existing contract backlog and estimated completion dates. 14 Hour Continuing Education for General Contractors
This continuing education training for general contractors will take place May 9-10 and again July 25-26 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., lunch included.. Electrical Contractors can attend day 1 and receive 7 credit hours, including all state mandated requirements, and receive remaining 7 technical hours through the correspondence course. OSHA Training
CBIA will hold an OSHA workshop from 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday, February 24th. Space is limited to the first 25 registrants. This Residential Fall Protection forum presents various methods that contractors and sub-contractors can use to prevent fall-related injuries and fatalities and avoid OSHA citations during the construction process. The focus of this forum is on new construction. The examples provided in this training forum will provide information and knowledge to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA requirements and recent changes in the Residential Fall Protection OSHA Requirements. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has a free workshop focusing on increasing your knowledge of DEP internet tools for online access to permitting, wetlands determination, online billing, application requirements, and department records.
